While looking for some information today, I came across Kurt Williams blog post titled Make it So-So.
In the post, Kurt reveals the results of a small organization getting purchased by a larger one culminating in the CEO giving the troops the following charge:
“Friends,” [the new CEO] said,” we spend way too much time and money making our customers happy.”
I find the story especially amusing considering that I was once told by my manager that, our customers can’t afford perfect
in response to my instance that an audit was correctly reporting large numbers of errors. It was later decided that the audit should be changed in order to show better results without fixing the problem. It was a great
demotivator.
