An article titled “‘Intelligent’ cars as fuel-efficient as hybrids” suggests that conventional gas powered vehicles can be as efficient as hybrids if you can conserve momentum with “traffic prediction” technology. I find this interesting because the best, most adaptive prediction technology in the world has to be the human brain. The corollary to the article has to be, “Using your head and some reasonable rules, an individual can see a 15-25% increase in fuel-efficiency in their current vehicle.” Might I also suggest that you check the air pressure of your tires every time you fill the tank?
Interestingly, the less expendable income you have the more interested you should be in efficiency improvements, although it’s a good idea for everyone. Getting the most of each dollar that you pump into your gas tank and avoiding driving short or unnecessary trips could really ease money pressure.
Be sure to practice some good habits on your next trip and reap the rewards, and be nice to others who are attempting to enjoy those same rewards.
