I’ve almost been doored four times in the last week. Historically, I haven’t had any issues with people flinging open doors while I pass by; but this week has set some kind of record. I don’t know if it’s because I’m riding at different times, poor luck, or lack of attention on my part. It could be some of each.
I do want to point out that on the ride in on Friday, there was a person who actually looked before opening the door. Hats off to this person! I said “thank you” as I passed, but I don’t know if they heard.
Conversely, there was a guy who almost ran down the two visually impaired pedestrians while they were crossing the street. Karma will eventually catch up with that guy and I bet it’s going to hurt.
